Privacy Policy

The short version

• We collect your email and name when you sign in with Google
• We log IP addresses to prevent abuse (deleted when files expire)
• Your files are stored temporarily and then permanently deleted
• We don't look at, analyze, or sell your files or data
• We use Stripe for payments - we never see your card number
• No tracking cookies, no ads, no data brokers

What we collect

When you sign in: Your name, email, and profile picture from Google. That's it. We use this to identify your account and show you your upload history.

When you upload files: Your files are encrypted and stored on secure cloud servers. We do not open, scan, or analyze your files in any way. Free files are deleted after 24 hours. Pro files are deleted after 7 days. When we say deleted, we mean actually deleted - not "archived" or "retained for legal purposes."

When you pay: Payment is handled entirely by Stripe. Your card details go directly to them - we never see or store your full card number. We only receive confirmation that payment succeeded.

IP addresses: We log IP addresses to prevent abuse and enforce rate limits, especially for anonymous uploads. This stops bad actors from spamming the service. IP addresses are stored with upload records and automatically deleted when the associated file expires (1 hour for anonymous, 24 hours for free, 7 days for pro).

Basic analytics: We track simple usage stats like how many uploads you've done and total transfer size. This helps us understand if the service is working and plan capacity. We don't track your browsing, build profiles, or sell this data.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your data to anyone
• We don't show you ads or use ad trackers
• We don't read or analyze your files
• We don't share your email with "partners"
• We don't keep your files longer than stated
• We don't use dark patterns to trick you into sharing more

Cookies

We use two cookies: one to keep you logged in, and one to remember if you prefer light or dark mode. That's it. No tracking cookies, no analytics cookies, no third-party cookies. We don't use Google Analytics or any similar service.

Third-party services

We use a few external services to make Clinkt work:

• Google Sign-In: For authentication only
• Stripe: For payment processing
• Cloud storage: For temporary file hosting

Each of these services has their own privacy policy. We chose them because they're reputable and take privacy seriously.

Your data, your control

You can:

• Delete your account anytime from the settings page
• When you delete your account, we delete everything - your profile, upload history, and any stored files
• Request a copy of your data by emailing us

Security

All connections use HTTPS. Files are stored on encrypted cloud infrastructure. We follow security best practices, but no system is 100% secure. We'll notify you if there's ever a breach that affects your data.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll notify you by email. We won't suddenly start selling your data or doing creepy things - that's not why we built this.
